ACTIVITIES
The amazing natural bush in the Fish River Valley sustains the diverse populations of game at Glen Boyd. There are a number of activities available on Glen Boyd, and in the vicinity. Game drives are available by arrangement on the property, and bird watching & photography are very popular. Hiking and mountain biking is also permitted, but at your own risk, due to the animals being wild. Horse riding trails can be arranged, and we will be introducing 4 wheeler game drives soon.
HORSEBACK RIDING
Splendid horse ride trails can be arranged through Glen Boyd Game Reserve, surprising Kudu, Giraffe and other species of game close up.. Buffalo and Sable are also some of the species you may encounter whilst strolling through the grassland. And for the more experienced riders there will be (soon in the future) a cross country course that a guide will take you on.
GAME DRIVE
You have an option of a self guided game drive or a guided game drive. It takes you through the picturesque valleys and hillocks where you will see majestic Kudu, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Nyala, Impala, Blesbuck, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Sable, Bushbuck, springbuck amongst others. Sundowner game drives can also be arranged, as well as night drives.
BIRD WATCHING
Glen Boyd is an ideal bird-lover's paradise. There is an abundance of birdlife in the area, and is a treat for any photographer!
HIKING
Catch & release fishing at the dam proves to be a great deal of fun! Fishing from the comfort of the deck at the tented camp, is a huge attraction for young and old. The relaxing and tranquil scenery is a hidden treasure, experienced and enjoyed by our visitors.
